The HI-CAM F is a gated intensified high-speed camera that records images up to 6832 fps at light levels down to 10-4 lux. The HI-CAM F allows image recording of fast events at high time resolution. At the same time the HI-CAM F offers single photon detection capability.

 

Fast moving objects are recorded sharply by shuttering the image intensifier down to 40ns,or optionally 5ns. The image intensifier is specially designed for use in high speed cameras; photocathodes with a range of spectral response from the UV until the near IR are available; enhanced maximum output brightness results in the optimal signal-to-noise ratio at high frame rate. The intensifier is coupled to the CMOS sensor by using a fibre optic taper that matches the intensifier to the sensor format.
