PSLmaintext.jpgMultiwave Photonics offers a state-of-the-art Pulsed Seed Laser as a high performance, compact and cost effective OEM module.

 

The module is designed as a pulsed seed laser source for feeding Yb-doped fiber booster amplifiers or other appropriate optical amplifiers to produce high energy pulses with pulsewidth and repetition rate that are selectable over wide ranges, as appropriate for marking, micromachining, medical and other applications. The module also serves as an excellent source for fiber-optic sensing.

 

Multiwave´s Pulsed Seed Laser PSL-10 is designed to operate as an analogue electrical-to-optical converter for low duty cycle pulsed signals, thus allowing pulse shaping within the module´s bandwidth of approximately 100 MHz. An external electrical pulse generator is used to drive the pulsed seed laser at the desired pulsewidth and repetition rate.

 

The module incorporates temperature and bias control electronics, as well as a pulse driver amplifier that is matched to the laser module and accepts a 0 – 2 V electrical input pulse modulation.

 

The module generates optical pulses with a pulsewidth selectable between 10 ns and 250 ns, and a repetition rate selectable from single shot up to 500 kHz.
