OEM Module, or Benchtop Instrument on request
The L–band broadband source is based on Amplified Spontaneous Emission from a
diode–pumped Er–doped fiber, and delivers a high spectral density output in the
1562nm–1608nm range. The source uses a Multiwave Photonics proprietary design
allowing very high spectral density by effective suppression of spurious lasing.
The broadband source is typically used for testing optical components and
optical communication systems operating in the L–band by noise loading and
recording BER as function of OSNR, as well as in fiber–optic gyroscopes, to
mention just a few applications. The high spectral density contained within a
large bandwidth makes this source also suited for sensing applications.
