RF Drivers for Frequency Shifters

AA Optoelectronic offer both fixed and variable frequency drivers for frequency shifting applications. When using variableVAR_FREQUENCY_maintext.png frequency devices, customers need to allow for the consequent variation in diffraction angle which will result.

VCO: Voltage Controlled Oscillator These Voltage Controlled Oscillators are the simplest way to control a deflector or a variable frequency shifter, in random access or raster scan mode. A voltage between 0 and 10 V is applied on the frequency control input in order to sweep the frequency. The sweeping time from Fmin to Fmax can be as low as 1 µs. The typical stability of a VCO is 50 to 100 KHz/°C : in option higher stabilities are proposed, and for the sharpest applications, a DDS will be preferred. These drivers are used in combination with AA amplifiers.
